Welcome to MyPassBox ("the app"), developed and operated by Nanjing Shuanghua Advertising Communication Co., Ltd. Please read and fully understand these terms before using the app. By starting to use the app you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted them.
1. What the service is
The app is a password manager that helps you store and manage passwords and account details securely. Its main features are:
• Password storage and management: organise records by category for easy lookup.
• Password generation: a built-in generator for strong random passwords.
• Encryption: vault data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and kept on your device.
• Biometric unlock: fingerprint or face unlock.
• Device-to-device sync (not yet available): we plan to sync encrypted data between HarmonyOS devices signed in to the same Huawei ID. The feature is not wired up today — turning the switch on performs no sync.
• Account sign-in: phone number with an SMS code or password, used for account features across devices.
2. Your responsibilities
• Keep your credentials safe: if you enable master password mode, look after the password and write the recovery code down offline when you generate it. Without the master password and without a recovery code, the wrapped data key cannot be unwrapped. A recovery code lets you get back in on this device. Default device key mode does not depend on a master password and is unaffected by this — but anyone who can unlock the device can read the data.
• Use a strong password: a complex master password mixing upper and lower case letters, digits, and symbols is recommended.
• Back up regularly: an encrypted copy from time to time in case the device is lost or damaged.
• Use it lawfully: you must not store information in the app in violation of any law, or use the app for unlawful activity.
• Account security: keep your account and SMS codes to yourself. If someone else uses your account because you failed to keep them safe, that is your responsibility.
3. Disclaimer
The developer is not liable in the following situations:
• Lost master password: if you forget or lose the master password and have no recovery code, the data cannot be decrypted. The app neither stores nor uploads the master password, and there is no way to recover it.
• Misuse: data lost through accidental deletion or incorrect operation.
• Device failure: data lost through device damage, loss, or system crash.
• Force majeure: service interruption or data loss caused by natural disasters, war, policy changes, or similar.
• Third-party services: sign-in or sync failures caused by third-party services such as Huawei ID, Huawei SMS, or Huawei Cloud. We will help you work it out with the provider.
